Easily search within themes, plugins, and WordPress core files and output a list of files, matching text, and files that matched your search.
Click the link in the search results to start editing directly in your browser.
Adding Plugins
Go to Plugins > Add Plugin, enter "String Locator" in the keyword search, and click Install Now → Activate.
Launch it from Tools → String Locator.
How to use
1. Select the files you want to search. You can search all files, but if you know the exact files you want to search, such as a specific plugin, you can narrow down the search to get faster results.
2. Enter the search string. Copy and paste the words you want to search for, such as text displayed on the front of the website, to search.
3. When you hover your mouse over the target file, an [Edit] text link will be displayed, linking you directly to the target location.
Points to note
This is an old plugin, last updated seven months ago, so it is safe to delete it immediately after use and reinstall it only when you need to use it again.
