This is where you set up your categories. If you have ever written a WordPress blog, you will know how to use it in the same way as post categories.

Example of question category settings

  • Name – the category as it will appear on the site
  • Slug - A string used in the URL. An alphanumeric string is recommended.

At the very least, you need to set the name and slug.

Question category list page

When you install AnsPress, a category list page is automatically generated.
You can change the title to anything you like.

This page displays a list of the categories you have set.

If you delete the AnsPress category list page

Create a static page and paste the [anspres] shortcode as shown in the attachment.

  • Ask from category order - Set the order of question categories. The default is by number of posts. You can also change it to ID order, name order, slug order, etc.
  • Categories page order by - The order of the category page. The default is by number of posts. You can also change it to ID order, name order, slug order, etc.
  • Categories page order - Decide whether to sort by ascending or descending order. The default is descending.
  • Category page par - The number of categories to display per page. Default is 20.
  • Category image height - Sets the height of category images. Default is 150px.
