This article explains how to use Amelia, a WordPress plugin that allows you to create a homepage with a reservation system.
In the major update in December 2025, the UI of the admin screen changed significantly in versions 9.x and later. We will explain the new version!
This time, we will explain how to set up Amelia to send emails.
Amelia's email sending settings
First, let's explain how to set up Amelia.
After activating the plugin, Amelia-related settings will be added to the left sidebar.
From there, open [Settings].

Amelia email settings
First, go to Amelia > Settings > Notifications

Amelia > Settings > Notifications > Basic Settings

Turn on Notify customers by default.
If this setting is not turned on, no email will be sent when a reservation is made.
Amelia > Settings > Notifications > Redirect Settings

This setting determines which page you will be redirected to after clicking the cancel link received in the email notification.
・Page when cancellation is successful
・Page when cancellation fails
Two page settings are possible.

This is the redirect setting for notifications received by staff.
- Where will you be redirected after clicking the approval link to approve the request?
- Redirection if not approved
- Redirection destination when booking is cancelled
- Redirection destination if reservation cancellation fails - This can happen if the admin page is left open and the server times out.
Amelia > Settings > Notifications > Email Address

Here you can set the sender email address.
I think your WP mail settings are good.
Amelia does not have the function to record email logs, so we recommend that you set it up in WP Mail and install a plugin that can capture email logs sent from WordPress.
Sender name

Sets the sender name.
Sender email

Set the sender email address.
Reply to email

Set the reply email address.
Send all notifications to an additional address

By default, Amelia has two email addresses, one for customers and one for employees, so if you want to send an email to an administrator or other person, you can add their email address here and have it forwarded.
However, all emails, both customer and employee, are sent.
ICS file

This setting will notify you of the ICS file by email when a reservation is confirmed or tentatively made.
About email logs
Amelia does not have an email logging function, so it is a good idea to install a free SMTP plugin that can log emails sent from WordPress.
There are several SMTP plugins available, but the free version of Post SMTP is the only one that can capture logs. It was created by Saad Iqbal. Simply enable it to capture logs.
