We will explain how to set up the layout of static pages in the free WordPress theme OceanWP.

General Settings

This can be done in the general settings under Appearance > Customize > Basic Settings in the WordPress dashboard.

What you can do in General Settings

You can set the layout of static pages, the layout of search pages, and OGP.

Content Width Default Setting

This is the default container width of 1200px. In the case of two columns, the main content on the left is set to 72%, and the sidebar on the right is set to 28%.

What is the main container width?

Let's change the width of the main container. Let's make it 600px for easier understanding.

You can see that the width in which the text is displayed has become narrower. This part is called the main container width.

Content Width and Sidebar Width

Next, change the content width and sidebar width to 50%. Set them so that the total is 100%.

You can see that the left and right sides are divided into 50%.

Box Layout

Next, let's try a box layout. I set the width to 600px and the background to red to make it easier to see.

Boxed layout creates a boxed style and allows you to set a different background color.

Separate Settings

Finally, the separate setting.

The layout will be divided into main content and sidebar.

Fixed Page Layouts

Set the default layout for static pages. You can choose from five different patterns.

If you install the free and recommended plugin Ocean Extra, you will be able to change this setting on a per-page basis.

Search Page Layout

  • Search target - All/Static Pages/Posts
  • Search Posts Per Page
  • Layout

You can set the following.

OGP Settings

You can set up OGP for Twitter/Facebook.
