This article explains how to use Amelia, a WordPress plugin that allows you to create a homepage with a reservation system.
In the major update in December 2025, the UI of the admin screen changed significantly in versions 9.x and later. We will explain the new version!

This time, we will explain how to set up Amelia to send emails.


Amelia's email sending settings

First, let's explain how to set up Amelia.
After activating the plugin, Amelia-related settings will be added to the left sidebar.
From there, open [Settings].

Amelia Roles & Permissions Settings

First, go to Amelia > Settings > Roles&permissions

Amelia > Settings > Role & Permission > Customer

Set the permissions for the customer.

Customer configuration

  • If the email address or phone number is already registered at the time of booking, check if the name matches - Check this to check if the email address or phone number is already registered.
  • Automatically create Amelia Customer user - If checked, a new user will be added to WordPress.

Amelia > Settings > Role & permission > Administrator

Set the administrator permissions.

Administrators can book all time slots

If you turn it on, the administrator will be able to make reservations at any time, even on holidays.
Additionally, if you turn on Booking time slots will depend on the service duration, you will be able to set reservation times based on the service duration.
If it's OFF, you'll be able to make reservations from a fixed time slot, the same as the time slots your customers book.

Allow admin to book over an existing appointment

If you turn this on, the administrator will be able to add reservations even if a time slot already has reservations.

If you upgrade to the paid version of Amelia

Here are some additional features that are added when you upgrade to the paid version.
There are multiple license types for the paid version, and the additional features vary depending on the license type.

You can now set two types of permissions: employees and customers.

Employee Authority

  • Allow employees to manage their service - Permission to edit their own service
  • Allow employees to manage their schedules - Ability to edit their own schedules
  • Allow employees to manage their special days - The right to set special reservation days
  • Allow employees to manage their days off - Ability to set holidays

Limit on the number of nominations

  • Number of reservations/number of events - Number of reservations that can be made
  • Duration - Choose from hours, days, weeks, months, or recurring periods, and control how many bookings can be made per month.
  • Counting method - Decide whether to limit the reservation period based on the reservation date, service date, or event start date.
