When I tried to launch the Brizy editor, the message "Something went wrong" was displayed and the editor would not launch. I have now solved the problem, so I would like to explain the cause.

Somethning went wrong

In WordPress, there are rare cases where an error message "Something webt wrong" appears.

Something went wrong

This is the error, but the error message is quite vague.

What I tried to solve "Something went wrong"

  • Deactivate all plugins and activate only the free version of Brizy
  • Change the theme to the default twenty twenty three

I tried putting nothing in it, but the error did not improve.

I was planning to duplicate another site and continue building, so I reset it once.

  • Uninstall WordPress
  • New WordPress installation
  • Install Brizy free plugin

This did not resolve the error.

  • Server security OFF
  • Server WAF setting OFF

I tried various things, but the "something went wrong" error did not go away.

How to solve "something went wrong"

The Wordfence firewall was blocking the editor from launching.

Since the original site had Wordfence installed, it seems that this function remained even after resetting Wordpress. You cannot operate it without installing the Wordfence plugin.

  • Install wordfence
  • Register and activate your email address

Once I did this, the editor started up perfectly and the error disappeared!

This time it was the wordfence firewall function that was affecting it, but sometimes the server's WAF function can cause the editor to not start. If you get a similar error, try turning off the server's WAF function first!
