Since there is no such thing as a product item, I decided to list my lesson services as one product!

First, open a shop on BASE

It's really easy, just enter your details and the online store will guide you through it in just a few minutes.

Why did it take so long to set up your online store?

BASE has an app that allows you to expand various functions. I wanted to use the free app's "unique domain" feature, so it took me a while to figure it out.

Usually, the URL of a shop is the domain [hanamiweb.thebase.in]. I thought this was not original enough, so I wanted to use my own domain if I could do it for free! So I decided to use the original domain I got from Onamae.com.

BASE kindly explained how to set this up, so I was able to set it up smoothly.

The first mistake I made was that I set up my shop to use the subdomain lesson.hanai-web.tokyo.jo, even though I wanted to use the URL hanami-web.tokyo.jp/lesson.

A folder for the subdomain called lesson was generated, and the lesson page could no longer be displayed. Therefore, I deleted this subdomain.

Therefore, we decided to operate BASE on the subdomain shop-lesson.hanami-web.tokyo.jp.

You need to change the DNS information.

Since one domain uses two types of servers (a server for the homepage and a server for BASE), you need to specify in detail that this domain will use the server for the homepage and this subdomain will use BASE.

I finished setting up the DNS information, but shop-lesson.hanami-web.tokyo.jp was not displayed for a while. I wondered if I had made a mistake in the settings, so I tried resetting them several times, but in the end I just waited, trusting that the changes would be reflected. After a little over an hour, the SSL-enabled online shop was finally displayed without any problems.

What I did on the first day

This took me about 2-3 hours. Most of the time was waiting for the original domain to be set up. This concludes Day 1!
